Spring is arriving. The nights are still really cold, dropping to minus 2 the other day. There is that impulse to verdant green and lots and lots of little flowers everywhere. We have planted out a vegetable garden with potatoes, onions, leeks, some strawberries and sage and some more delicate Italian peppers. It will be the sixth growing season on this spot ! Fortunately the hard graft of digging the plot over was done by Angel and his tractor in about 20 minutes!

Hi all, a short message from me. I have had a couple weeks at the end of the year with a little more space, an opportunity to reflect back on the year and get into some report style writing! I have written three pieces, a shabda letter last month, a letter to the WIndhorse Trust and a Directors report. For anyone interested I do post most material up onto Suryavana website blog and to the Suryavana page on buddhist centre online. 2025 has been a good year on the whole. We can say that.

Hi all. We just had a really “full-on” run of activities leaving me a little “Frito”. “Fried”. If you had spoken to me Sunday morning at 8am when we were preparing breakfast for our guests I would have been in a very different mood to now. Six events one after the other with a few days to recover in between each event. Padmashalin did a great job of running the kitchen. We were blessed by a couple of young volunteers, “making lighter work with many hands”. The extra challenge was that nearly all the groups were new non-Triratna folks, that rent out Suryavana.

Hi. I am back in Suryavana after an 18 days odyssey of what has felt like epic proportions. As a kid we often took the ferry from Plymouth over to France, my last trip was as a bolshy 15 year old teenager in my folks’ VW camper. I have wanted to travel from Spain to Plymouth, camping our way through France and take the ferry Roscoff to Plymouth for a long time. With the kids. With the dog, with our family car! So we did it! It can be done.
